While the cost of the bulletproof Nissan Patrol is unknown, a non-bulletproof privately imported example would cost around 2 crores.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently upgraded his ride to a bulletproof Nissan Patrol luxury SUV, according to reports. The actor was seen arriving in his new vehicle at the opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai, accompanied by his security and a police escort. The new Nissan Patrol replaces his armoured Toyota Land Cruiser LC200. Although Nissan does not officially retail the Patrol in India, it is a popular choice in the Middle East and Southeast Asia and is known for its reliability in bulletproofing.

Salman Khan's Bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV: Luxury, Power and Protection

As far as the car industry news goes the armoured Nissan Patrol is expected to have B6 or B7 levels of protection, with 41 mm thick glass for ballistic protection against high-powered rifles and 78 mm glass for armour-piercing rounds. The interiors of the Nissan Patrol are luxurious, and it is powered by a 5.6-litre V8 petrol engine that produces 400 bhp and 560 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The Patrol is an exceptional off-roader and competes with the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 and the Land Rover Defender in the segment.

After receiving death threats from mobster Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates regarding his involvement with the Blackbuck poaching case, Salman Khan upgraded to a bulletproof automobile last year making it the current news headlines. Bishnoi belongs to the group that holds blackbucks as sacrosanct, which is claimed to have triggered the thug. Khan had previously used the previous generation Land Rover Range Rover LWB as his daily driver but switched to the bulletproof Land Cruiser LC200.

While the cost of the bulletproof Nissan Patrol is unknown, a non-bulletproof privately imported example would cost around 2 crores. In comparison, Salman's friend and contemporary, Aamir Khan, owns an armoured Mercedes-Benz S600 S-Guard from the W221 generation, which he reportedly had to spend about 8-10 crore about a decade ago. Shah Rukh Khan, another Bollywood actor, recently acquired two new cars, a Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge, and a Mercedes-Maybach S580.

Salman Khan's upgrade to a bulletproof Nissan Patrol is not surprising, given the need for enhanced security due to the threats he has received in the past. The Nissan Patrol's reliability in bulletproofing and its impressive performance as an off-roader make it an excellent choice for someone in Khan's position.
