Former PM Manmohan Singh turns 91 today.. one of my fav memories of him is from 1999 when he contested a Lok Sabha election (and lost) . We were doing a ‘follow the leader’ programme and it was Dr Singh’s grandson’s birthday. We wanted to shoot the cake cutting and speak to the family. Dr Singh politely refused: ‘you are interviewing me, not my family.. keep them out of this ..’ Zealously guarding his privacy, he is an original ‘karmayogi’, a man of wisdom and dignity. Made his fair share of mistakes as PM but also has a number of accomplishments. Happy birthday sir: May history judge you more kindly 🙏🎂
