"Dunki" and "Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire" both films clashed at the box office. "Dunki" is a Rajkumar Hirani directed immigration drama starring Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal and Tapsee Pannu, released on December 21, 2023, while Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is a Prashanth Neel-directed action thriller starring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan, released on December 22, 2023. Salaar also outperformed Dunki in North America, achieving a higher total at the box office there. Although Dunki was a box office success due to its lower budget, Salaar, with its massive budget, emerged as a global box office winner.
