Every year, agricultural waste is burnt in massive quantities.
At the same time, the textile industry consumes enormous water and energy.

Recently, I came across a Surat-based startup called CanvaLoop, founded by Shreyans Kokra along with a team of scientists and R&D experts, working at the intersection of agriculture and fashion.

They convert agricultural waste like banana stems, pineapple leaves, paddy, and sugarcane residue into fibre that feels like cotton, reportedly even softer and more durable.
