A major development in the escalating tensions in the Middle East has drawn global attention after reports claimed that Iran targeted and destroyed one of the United States’ most important missile-detection systems in the Gulf region. According to several reports circulating online, the U.S. early-warning radar system AN/FPS-132, valued at around $1.1 billion and located in Qatar, was allegedly hit during Iranian retaliatory strikes. The system is designed to detect and track long-range ballistic missile launches from thousands of kilometers away, providing crucial early warnings to missile defense systems and military commands.
