Central Railway recorded 16.16 lakh irregular travel cases in 2025–26, recovering Rs 71.31 crore in penalties. Western Railway detected 30 lakh violations between April 2025 and February 2026, collecting over Rs 191 crore, a 42 per cent rise year-on-year.
