53 years ago today… Apollo 16 landed on the Moon. 🌕
Commander John Young and lunar module pilot Charles Duke touched down at the Descartes Highlands on April 21, 1972.
Over the next three days, they spent more than 20 hours exploring the surface… collecting 209 pounds of Moon rocks… and even setting up the first telescope ever placed on the Moon.
And this photo? Young leaping off the lunar surface while saluting the flag… captured by Duke himself.
