The 'Somnath Amrit Parv' is being celebrated at the court of Somnath Mahadev, the first of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The main attraction of this Amrit Parv is the first 'Kumbhabhishek' to be held on the 90-meter-high spire of the temple. On May 11, for the first time in the history of Somnath Temple, the Kumbhabhishek will be performed on the temple's spire using the sacred waters of 11 holy sites. On this special occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be present.

According to sources, for this Kumbhabhishek, a massive Kumbh procession will be taken to the temple's spire with the help of a crane, and it will be consecrated with mantras. For the first time in the history of the reconstructed Somnath Temple, a spire Kumbhabhishek is being organized. This tradition, commonly seen in temples of South India, is now set to come to life at Somnath as well.

PM Modi will also participate in the Amrit Mahotsav at Somnath Temple. There will be a roadshow from the helipad to the temple. After that, he will arrive at Somnath Temple, where he will offer oblations in a special yajna. Special worship and rituals will also take place in his presence. Following this, the grand Kumbhabhishek will be performed with water brought from 11 pilgrimage sites.
