Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy is set to get a new international tribute, with Israel announcing plans to install a statue of the legendary Maratha ruler. The proposal was shared by Israel’s Consul General in Mumbai on Shivrajyabhishek Din, the anniversary of Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation, and is being viewed as a sign of growing India-Israel friendship.
The planned memorial is expected to showcase the historical and cultural ties between both nations, including the long connection between Maharashtra and the Indian Jewish community. The statue will pay tribute to one of India’s most respected leaders while also highlighting the strengthening bond between India and Israel.
