A controversy in Japan has gained international attention after Pakistan’s Embassy in Tokyo clarified that it had no role in a mosque project in Kawagoe, Saitama Prefecture, which is now under review by local authorities over alleged construction law violations.

According to reports, the mosque was built on land located in an urbanization control area, where development requires special permission from municipal authorities. Kawagoe officials said the required approvals were not obtained before construction began, raising concerns over compliance with Japan’s City Planning Act.
