Laxmi Pandey, whose green house in Nepal’s Nuwakot became known as a “miracle house,” says faith helped her family survive the devastating August 26 flash floods along the Trishuli River. Laxmi, her husband, daughter, mother-in-law and two other family members were trapped inside their 40-year-old home as floodwaters rushed in.
Speaking about the terrifying experience, she said, “I prayed to Lord Shiva and I recite Hanuman Chalisa daily. That day I recited Hanuman Chalisa. I feel God protected our house.”
