उनकी हड्डियों से तीन धनुष बने -
1. गांडीव
2. पिनाक
3. सारंग
जिसमे से गांडीव अर्जुन को मिला था जिसके बल पर अर्जुन ने महाभारत का युद्ध जीता !
सारंग से भगवान राम ने युद्ध किया था और रावण के अत्याचारी राज्य को ध्वस्त किया था !
और, पिनाक था भगवान शिव जी के पास जो कालांतर में राजा जनक को मिला था.
इसी पिनाक की नित्य सेवा सीताजी किया करती थी ! पिनाक का भंजन करके ही भगवान राम ने सीता जी का वरण किया था !
ब्रह्मर्षि दधिची की हड्डियों से ही एकघ्नी नामक वज्र भी बना था जो भगवान इन्द्र को प्राप्त हुआ था !
इस एकघ्नी वज्र को इन्द्र ने कर्ण की तपस्या से खुश होकर उन्होंने कर्ण को दे दिया था! इसी एकघ्नी से महाभारत के युद्ध में भीम का महाप्रतापी पुत्र घटोत्कच कर्ण के हाथों मारा गया था ! और भी कई अश्त्र-शस्त्रों का निर्माण हुआ था उनकी हड्डियों से !
दधिची के इस अस्थि-दान का एक मात्र संदेश था
'' हे भारतीय वीरो शस्त्र उठाओ और अन्याय तथा अत्याचार के विरुद्ध युद्ध करो !''
