उच्च शिक्षा के लिये बैचलर औऱ मास्टर डिग्री जैसी व्यवस्था हेतु उच्च गुरुकुल अलग से थे। जिनकी संख्या कुल 6000 से अधिक थी। यहाँ आप अठारह विषयो मे से कोई एक विषय चुनकर चिकित्सक, इंजीनियर, वैज्ञानिक, शिक्षक, किसान, वास्तुकार बन सकते थे। वेद पुराण अनिवार्य थे।
आज जिन्हें दलित कहा जाता हैं एवं थ्योरी दी जाती हैं कि उन्हें सवर्णो ने पढ़ने नही दिया, ये वही वास्तुकार विशेषज्ञ थे जो उच्च गुरुकुल में वास्तुशिल्प विषय चुनकर शिक्षा प्राप्त करते थे। इसी वजह से भारतीय वास्तुशिल्प दुनिया मे सर्वोत्तम था।
