दुनिया के सबसे प्रतिष्ठित समुद्री रेस गोल्डन ग्लोब में भारत ने एक नया इतिहास रचा है। इंडियन नेवी के रिटायर्ड अधिकारी कमांडर अभिलाष टॉमी पहले भारतीय हैं, जिन्होंने इस रेस को पूरा किया है। वह इस रेस में दूसरे नंबर पर आए हैं। इसमें नाविक नाव पर अकेले दुनिया का चक्कर लगाते हैं। पिछले साल 4 सितंबर को यह रेस फ्रांस से शुरू हुई थी।
गोल्डन ग्लोब रेस दुनिया की सबसे कठिन रेस में से एक मानी जाती है और अभिलाष इसे पूरा करने वाले पहले एशियाई व्यक्ति हैं। इससे पहले भी उन्होंने 2018 में इस रेस में हिस्सा लिया था; लेकिन रास्ते में उनका समुद्री तूफ़ान से सामना हुआ, जिसके कारण वह हादसे का शिकार हो गए थे। तीन दिन तक वह अपनी नाव में एक जगह पर पड़े रहे थे। बाद में एक हेलीकॉप्टर से उन्हें रेसक्यू किया गया और वह लंबे समय तक अस्पताल में भर्ती रहे। लेकिन इस बार उन्होंने रेस पूरा कर दिखा दिया है कि रास्ते का तूफ़ान आपकी मुश्किल ज़रूर बनेगा लेकिन कोई भी तूफ़ान आपको मंज़िल तक पहुंचने से रोक नहीं सकता!
