Ayodhya has tightened food restrictions around one of Hinduism’s most sacred pilgrimage zones.
The rule is clear:
🥩 NO sale of non-vegetarian food.
🍽️ NO serving it in hotels and restaurants.
🏠 Guest houses and homestays must also comply.
📱 And now — NO online delivery of non-vegetarian food inside the restricted zone.
The restrictions cover Ayodhya Dham and the Panchkosi Parikrama area, with reports describing the delivery restriction as extending roughly 15 km around the Ram Temple.
Why the tighter enforcement?
Authorities said they had received complaints that visitors were still obtaining non-vegetarian food through online delivery services despite existing restrictions.
So on January 8, hotels, guest houses, homestays, shops and food-delivery companies were formally informed of the tightened rules.

This is NOT simply a claim that every person everywhere in the wider district has been prohibited from eating non-vegetarian food.
The reported restrictions concern SALE, SERVING and DELIVERY within designated sacred areas.
That makes the actual policy more specific than many viral headlines suggest.
