Deeply shaken by the sudden demise of Col Sonam Wangchuk, Maha Vir Chakra, my brother Rhino from 4 Assam Regiment.
I was there, the day he joined the unit. We served together in IPKF, Sri Lanka too. Undoubtedly he was one of the finest warriors, I have ever known.
He led the Ladakh Scouts column with exceptional courage and earned the Maha Vir Chakra at the Battle of Chorbatla that marked one of the first major successes for the Indian Army in the Kargil War.
Beyond the uniform, Sonam was a thorough gentleman and a deeply spiritual soul. His faith in Buddhism was a quiet strength he carried always.
This loss is sudden, shocking, and deeply personal. My heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul find peace; Rest In Eternal Peace.

रिश्वत लेने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार पंजाब पुलिस के पूर्व उप महानिरीक्षक यानी DIG हरचरण सिंह भुल्लर को सुप्रीम कोर्ट से लगा झटका. भुल्लर को 8 लाख रुपये रिश्वत लेने के आरोप में सीबीआई के हाथों गिरफ्तार पंजाब पुलिस के पूर्व डीआईजी हरचरण सिंह भुल्लर की जमानत याचिका सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने खारिज कर दी.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा कि अगर दो महीने में ट्रायल शुरू नहीं होता, तो हरचरण सिंह भुल्लर फिर से जमानत याचिका दाखिल कर सकते हैं. पंजाब और हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट ने भी भुल्लर की जमानत याचिका खारिज कर दी थी.

सीबीआई ने पिछले साल 16 अक्टूबर को भुल्लर और उनके बिचौलिए कृष्ण शारदा को 8 लाख रुपये रिश्वत लेने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया था. पिछले महीने सीबीआई को भुल्लर के खिलाफ केस चलाने के लिए गृह मंत्रालय से मंजूरी मिली थी.

चूंकि भुल्लर एक आईपीएस अधिकारी हैं, इसलिए उनके खिलाफ कार्रवाई के लिए केंद्र सरकार की अनुमति आवश्यक थी. गिरफ्तारी के बाद से भुल्लर और शारदा दोनों ही जेल में हैं. अब इस झटके के बाद उनकी परेशानी और बढ़ गई है.
