तमिलनाडु के कन्याकुमारी जिले में एक साधारण किसान परिवार में जन्मे डॉ. सिवन का सफर वाकई बेहद खास है। उनके पिता जब उनकी इंजीनियरिंग की पढ़ाई का खर्च नहीं उठा सकते थे तो परिवार ने कई दिनों तक भूखे रहकर गुज़ारा किया।
आखिरकार, पिता ने बेटे की पढ़ाई के लिए अपना खेत बेच दिया।
उनके पास कभी न अच्छे कपड़े थे, न जूते, न कोई खास सुविधाएं.. सिर्फ मेहनत, मजबूत इरादा और एक बड़ा सपना था।
मद्रास इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी में पढ़ाई करने से लेकर PSLV प्रोजेक्ट पर काम करने तक! फिर ISRO के चेयरमैन बनने और Chandrayaan-2 मिशन को लीड करने तक
उनकी कहानी हमें यही सिखाती है कि सफलता के लिए परफेक्ट हालात नहीं, बस जुनून और लगन की जरूरत होती है।
वह कहते हैं, “मुझे इस बात की चिंता नहीं थी कि मुझे क्या नहीं मिला.. मुझे जो भी काम मिला, उसमेंमैंने हमेशा अपना सर्वश्रेष्ठ दिया।”
तमिलनाडु के धूल भरे खेतों से भारत के स्पेस मिशनों के कंट्रोल रूम तक का सफर,
यही असली प्रेरणा है।
