मेरठ: सेंट मेरीज एकेडमी की बस काली नदी के बराबर में करीब 15 फीट गहरी खाई में पलट गई। बस में 50 से 55 बच्चे सवार बताए जा रहे हैं। राहगीरों ने बच्चों समेत चालक को भी बाहर निकाला और अस्पताल में पहुंचाया।

दौराला-लावड़ मार्ग स्थित खेड़ी टप्पा गांव के पास सेंट मेरीज एकेडमी है। रोज की तरह बुधवार सुबह को भी स्कूल बस बच्चों को लेने उनके गांव घर पहुंची थी। बस में चिंदौड़ी, लावड़ और मवीमीरा गांव के 50-55 बच्चे सवार थे, जो कक्षा एक से पांचवीं तक थे। लावड़ की ओर से बस स्कूल को जा रही थी। हादसे की सूचना पर अभिभावक मौके की ओर दौड़ पड़े।

बताया गया कि रास्ते में काली नदी फ्लाईओवर के पास पहुंचते ही बस चालक मोबाइल देखने लगा, तभी सामने से आ रहे ट्रक को बचाने के चक्कर में बस चालक स्टेयरिंग से अपना नियंत्रण खो बैठा। जिसके बाद बस कंडक्टर साइड की ओर नदी के बराबर में करीब 15 गहरी खाई में पलटी। पेड़ से बस टकराकर रुक गई। राहगीरों ने मशक्कत कर बच्चों समेत चालक को भी बाहर निकाला और पास के अस्पताल में पहुंचाया गया।
