चेन्नई में एक सफाई कर्मचारी ने साबित कर दिया कि ईमानदारी किसी पद या पैसे की मोहताज नहीं होती.

पॉन्डी बाजार इलाके में ड्यूटी के दौरान सफाई कर्मचारी पद्मा को सड़क पर एक बैग मिला, जिसमें करीब 45 लाख रुपये कीमत के सोने के गहने रखे थे.

इतनी बड़ी रकम होने के बावजूद पद्मा ने बिना किसी लालच के उस बैग को तुरंत पुलिस के हवाले कर दिया.

जांच के बाद पुलिस ने गहने उनके असली मालिक तक सुरक्षित पहुंचा दिए.

पद्मा की इस सराहनीय ईमानदारी ने न सिर्फ लोगों का दिल जीता, बल्कि सरकार का भी ध्यान खींचा.

तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री एम.के. स्टालिन ने खुद उन्हें सम्मानित किया और एक लाख रुपये का नकद इनाम देकर उनका हौसला बढ़ाया.

खास बात यह है कि पद्मा का पूरा परिवार ईमानदारी की मिसाल रहा है.

कोरोना लॉकडाउन के दौरान उनके पति ने भी सड़क पर मिले डेढ़ लाख रुपये पुलिस को सौंप दिए थे..
