1947 के बाद जब सोमनाथ मंदिर के पुनर्निर्माण की योजना बनी, तब सोमनाथ मंदिर ट्रस्ट से जुड़े प्रमुख व्यक्तित्वों में जामनगर के महाराजा दिग्विजय सिंह जडेजा का महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा।
नवस्वतंत्र भारत के उस दौर में संसाधन सीमित थे। महाराजा दिग्विजय सिंह जडेजा ने सोमनाथ के पुनर्निर्माण के लिए व्यक्तिगत रूप से सहयोग दिया और निर्माण कार्य में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। मंदिर की पुनर्स्थापना के ऐतिहासिक अवसर पर उनके हाथों शिलान्यास/शिला-स्थापना से जुड़ी स्मृति भी विशेष रूप से उल्लेखित की जाती है।
1970 में महाराजा दिग्विजय सिंह जडेजा की पत्नी महारानी गुलाब कुँवरबा साहिबा ने उनकी स्मृति में सोमनाथ मंदिर के सामने स्थित भव्य “दिग्विजय द्वार” का निर्माण करवाया।
आज भी सोमनाथ में मौजूद दिग्विजय द्वार उस ऐतिहासिक योगदान की याद दिलाता है। 🙏🚩
