आषाढ़ कृष्ण पक्ष की संकष्टी चतुर्थी को भगवान श्री गणेश के कृष्णपिङ्गल महागणपति स्वरूप की आराधना की जाती है। संकष्टी चतुर्थी विघ्नहर्ता गणपति जी के प्रति श्रद्धा, संयम और शुभ संकल्प का पावन व्रत है।

इस दिन प्रातः स्नान के बाद व्रत का संकल्प लें, गणेश जी को दूर्वा, पुष्प, अक्षत, चंदन, धूप, दीप और मोदक या लड्डू अर्पित करें। “ॐ गं गणपतये नमः” मंत्र का जाप करें और संकष्टी व्रत कथा का श्रद्धापूर्वक पाठ या श्रवण करें।

रात्रि में चंद्रोदय के बाद चंद्रदेव को अर्घ्य देकर व्रत पूर्ण करने की परंपरा है।

भुवनेश्वर में आयोजित 65वीं राष्ट्रीय इंटर स्टेट सीनियर एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप में उत्तराखंड की बेटी अंकिता ध्यानी ने शानदार प्रदर्शन कर इतिहास रच दिया। पौड़ी गढ़वाल की इस प्रतिभाशाली धाविका ने 3000 मीटर स्टीपलचेज स्पर्धा में स्वर्ण पदक जीतकर न केवल देशभर में अपनी प्रतिभा का लोहा मनवाया, बल्कि आगामी एशियन गेम्स के लिए भी क्वालीफाई कर लिया।
