जब रविंद्र को पता चला कि उसकी बहन एक मुस्लिम लड़के से शादी करना चाहती है, तो वे उसे गुरुग्राम से अपने गांव बाबसा ले गया। लेकिन 1 दिसंबर को सुशीला गांव से भागकर वापस गुरुग्राम आ गई। 9 दिसंबर को जब रविंद्र ने उसे घर चलने को कहा तो वो नहीं मानी। इसके बाद रविंद्र ने अपने दोस्त पुष्पेंद्र को सब बताया और दोनों ने मिलकर सुशीला को मारने की योजना बनाई। योजना के मुताबिक, पुष्पेंद्र ने 10 दिसंबर को सुशीला से कहा कि वो उसकी शादी उसके प्रेमी से करवा देगा। सुशीला को विश्वास हो गया। 10 दिसंबर को ही पुष्पेंद्र ने रामपुरा चौक के पास से सुशीला को अपनी बाइक पर बैठाया और ग्वालियर गांव के पास पंचगांव रोड पर बने खंडहरों में ले गया। वहां उसने सुशीला की ही चुन्नी से गला घोंटकर मार डाला। फिर फोन करके रविंद्र को बुलाया और दोनों ने मिलकर लाश को मलबे में फेंक दिया।
