काम्या भारद्वाज, Gurugram की रहने वाली और Delhi University के Dyal Singh College में BSc Zoology (Hons) की छात्रा हैं, जिन्होंने Palk Strait में non-stop round-trip swim करके नया इतिहास रच दिया।

उन्होंने Dhanushkodi (India) से Talaimannar (Sri Lanka) तक तैरकर जाने के बाद तुरंत वापस लौटते हुए यह कठिन यात्रा पूरी की, और यह पूरा सफर उन्होंने 18 घंटे 15 मिनट में पूरा किया, जिससे 19 घंटे 20 मिनट के पुराने रिकॉर्ड को तोड़ दिया।

यह अभियान Open Water Swimming Academy (OWSA), Theni द्वारा आयोजित किया गया था, जिसकी शुरुआत 12 अप्रैल को Arichalmunai से हुई।

खुले समंदर की तेज लहरें, विपरीत धाराएं और jellyfish जैसे खतरों के बावजूद, काम्या ने रात के अंधेरे में भी तैरना जारी रखा और 13 अप्रैल की सुबह भारत के तट पर पहुंचकर यह ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि हासिल की।

यह उपलब्धि सिर्फ एक रिकॉर्ड नहीं, बल्कि अद्भुत शारीरिक क्षमता और मानसिक दृढ़ता का प्रमाण है।

India is in the grip of an intense heatwave, with scorching temperatures set to persist over the coming days 🔥
