भारतीय रेल आज की तारीख में दुनिया का चौथा सबसे बड़ा रेल नेटवर्क है। भारतीय रेल की ट्रेन में एक इंजन 22 से 24 डिब्बों की रेलगाड़ी 130 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की स्पीड से दौड़ती है। लेकिन रेलवे की शुरुआत 1853 में जब हुई थी, तब महज 14 डिब्बे की ट्रेन चलाने के लिए तीन इंजन लगाए गए थे। पूरे ट्रेन में महज 400 खुशनसीब यात्रियों को रेल यात्रा का मौका मिला था।
